What is required to obtain a tutor permit?

In order for your application for a supervisor permit to be approved by the Swedish Transport Agency, you need to meet the following requirements:

● You are at least 24 years old
● The student you will supervise has a valid driving licence
● You and your pupil have completed a tutor training course within the last five years
● You have a valid driving licence from Sweden or another EEA country
● You must have been authorised to drive the vehicle you are going to train for at least 5 years in the last 10 years.

How do I apply for a tutor certificate?

You apply for a supervisor permit on the Swedish Transport Agency's "Apply for supervisor" service. You need an e-ID to be able to apply via the website. You can also order your form here. Select the form ""Application for supervisor status for private practice driving" in the menu. Applying for a tutor licence is free!

How long is the tutor permit valid?

Om inte handledarens körkort blir återkallat så gäller handledartillståndet i fem år. Om du vill fortsätta att vara handledare efter det så behöver du skicka in en ansökan igen och gå en ny handledarkurs. Även om elevens körkortstillstånd behöver förnyas så behöver i regel inte handledartillståndet göra det. Du kan som handledare max ha 5 elever åt gången!

    Intensive course MC

    Our intensive course is for those who can handle a motorcycle.

    The intensive course includes the following training elements:

    Course programme

    (Morning)

    DAY 1
    Monday: 07.00-12.30
    Initial traffic, as well as high speed braking and a safety check

    DAY 2-4
    Tuesday-Thursday: 09.30-12.30
    Driving in traffic

    Day 5
    Friday: 08:20 or 09:30
    Road trip, fixed distance, 11 miles lasting about 3 hours.
    UBK - training check. This training is only booked when the trainer
    the trainer has given the go-ahead.

    Course programme

    (Afternoon)

    DAY 1
    Monday: 10.40-12.40 + 13.40-16.40
    Initial traffic, plus high speed braking and a safety check

    DAY 2-4
    Tuesday-Thursday: 13.40-16.40
    Driving in traffic

    DAY 5
    Friday: 08.20 or 09.30
    Road trip, fixed distance, about 11 miles lasting about 3 hours.
    UBK - training check. This training is only booked when the trainer
    the trainer has given the go-ahead.

    Intensive course 3 weeks

    ...never practised before but want to start your driving licence training in the best possible way!
